We may not see Moto X4 launching this month

2017 is definitely a big year for Motorola. As many of you may know, the company is expected to launch many smartphones in June as they have already sent out press invites for three events.
Going by the rumors, the Moto Z2 is likely to be launched on June 27 and Moto X4 is said to be launched on June 30. However, renowned leakster Andri Yatim has something else to say. According to his tweet, the launch of Moto X4 has been delayed.

He has also claimed that the Lenovo-owned original equipment manufacturer (OEM) may still “mention” the Moto Z2 on Friday, June 30. He has not said anything about the Moto G5S Plus though, which is also rumored to launch this month. According to Yatim, the delay of the Moto X4 has been caused by Qualcomm.

We may not see Moto X4 launching this month

If you are wondering, let us make it clear. Currently, Qualcomm seems to be struggling to meet the demand for its latest mid-range chipset Snapdragon 660. For those who are unaware, the Moto X4 is said to come with the same processor under its hood.

The same leakster previously disclosed some of the specs and features of the Moto X4. The device is said to feature a posh build with glass and metal sandwiched body along with the IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The other specifications of the Moto X4 those were leaked include a 5.2-inch FHD 1080p display and a 3800mAh battery. Talking about the Moto Z2, it may get announced or the company just decides to tease the device.

The tweet is pretty confusing. As for the specs, it is likely to be powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 paired with Adreno 540 GPU. It is further being accompanied by 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of on-board storage. On the software front, the smartphone is expected to run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Apart from that, the Moto E4 Plus will get launched on June 30 in the US.

Moto E4 Plus With 5000mAh Battery Expected to Launch in India Soon

Lenovo brand Moto is on a roll with its launches in India. After the Moto C Plus, Moto has already started teasing the launch of another smartphone launch in India. The teaser takes a dig on smartphones always running out of battery, and ends with an open-ended question ‘What’s coming next?’ This indicates the launch of the Moto E4 Plus in the country soon. \

The Moto E4 Plus’ big highlight is its massive 5000mAh battery, and Motorola is presumably hinting at that in its teaser on Twitter. Alongside, Motorola could also launch the Moto E4, or may launch it a while later as well. The teaser reads, “A dead phone is the modern-day shortest horror story. We will ensure you don’t feel #Powerless again. What’s coming next? #StayTuned.”

The Moto E4 and Moto E4 Plus were both launched globally last week, and are priced at $129.99 (roughly Rs. 8,300) and $179.99 (roughly Rs.11,600) respectively.

As for the optics, the Moto E4 has an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, f/2.2 aperture, and single-LED flash support. In the US, the Moto E4 Plus will be available in Iron Gray and Fine Gold colour options. All the other specifications are identical to the Moto E4.

Moto G5S Plus Battery Capacity and Price Estimate Leaked

While Moto G5S Plus has already seen its fair share of leaks, the yet-to-be-announced smartphone’s battery capacity and price estimates have now been leaked by a tipster. While earlier it was estimated that the Moto G5S Plus might be priced at Rs. 17,999, the new leak suggests that the smartphone will be priced slightly higher than the previous estimate.

Popular tipster Andri Yatim said in his tweet that the Moto G5S Plus will be priced between Rs. 18,999 and Rs. 19,999 by the company, as pointed out in a report by GSMArena. Yatim has further suggested that the smartphone will house a 3068mAh battery, which will put it in the same bracket as the Moto G5 Plus that comes with 3000mAh battery.

Apart from the information mentioned above, Yatim also shared some of the renders of the smartphone that show the dual cameras and two colour variants of the smartphone. Notably, the renders shared by Yatim are strikingly similar to the renders of the Moto G5S Plus that were leaked earlier. To recall, it was previously suggested that the handset will be made available in in four colours: Gold, Grey, Silver (with White front), and Gold (with White front).

Some of rumoured specifications of the Moto G5S Plus include 5.5-inch full-HD display, octa-core processor, and Android 7.0 Nougat. As seen in the leaked images, the handset will feature fingerprint scanner at the front.

Motorola’s Moto X (Gen 4) may have full metal unibody

Lenovo-owned Motorola Mobility may already have started working on the fourth generation of its flagship Moto X smartphone. Although, details about the Moto X (Gen 4) are all but scarce at the moment, a leaked image doing the rounds on internet apparently shows off the phone — from the back — in all its metallic glory. You heard that right. If the purported image is to be gone by, we may be looking at Motorola’s first ever full metal unibody phone in the next Moto X.

Motorola currently has two Moto X phones in the market. One is the Moto X Play , while the other is the Moto X Style . Both the phones have a plastic build with the pricier Moto X Style having a metallic rim on the outside. According to the leaked image, the Moto X (Gen 4) will have a full metal unibody design which is slightly different from the current generation Moto phones. The vertical ascent that housed the camera module and the Moto logo seems to have been replaced by a larger, more prominent circular camera apparatus with a dualLED flash system incorporated inside. The Moto logo meanwhile sits flush below the camera. The upper and lower ends of the phone seem to sport a brushed polycarbonate finish, possibly to house the antennas.

The power button and volume rocker lie on the right while what appears to be the speaker vent is also placed on the lower end of the back. Sadly, that’s all the information we can gauge out from the leaked image.

Whether or not the upcoming Moto X will have two variants like the Moto X (Gen 3) is still not known. Also, there’s no information about the possible spec sheet of the alleged phone. That being said, the leak does raise expectations about what could be in store.
